Tofino, in the centre of Clayoquot Sound, was recently designated B.C.’s first United Nations Biosphere Reserve. Along the way you will be driving through ancient Rain forests. During this excursion you will stop and visit the many eagles, and watch them build nests, tend to their young, fish, and soar on the air currents above. The journey continues over the traditional feeding grounds of the grey whale. We must be ever watchful for pods of orcas (killer whales) as they pass through on their hunt for food. Stops may be made to view seal and sea lion colonies at their local haul-outs. In this region you see grey whales, orcas, humpbacks and minkies. Throughout these cruises you are on the lookout, and often see porpoises, sunfish, river otters, and sea otters.
