Day 1, Welcome to Vietnam! Vietnam is lucky
in so far as it possesses tropical year round golf weather, an expansive coastal
shore, and temperate central and northern regions. Arrival in Hanoi after being
welcomed by our staff you will be transported to your hotel. After freshening
up take a half day ‘Best of Hanoi’ sightseeing tour. Steep yourself in history,
tradition, and legend in a capital that has been inhabited continuously for
almost a millennium. Visitors often note that the city is quieter, greener, and
"cooler" than other Asian big cities. Visit the famous Old Quarter, Museum of
Ethnology, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and “Hanoi Hilton” (POW prison). After the
tour you will be transported back to your hotel.
Day 2,
(B) After breakfast at your hotel you will be transported to
Kings Island Golf Club, arguably the most scenic course in North Vietnam. The
golf resort lies on the shores of the Dong Mo reservoir 36 kilometers from
Hanoi. In a uniquely Vietnamese touch, access to the course is by boat. As might
be expected, water plays a central role in the course design and comes into play
on 13 of the 18 holes. Many of the hidden greens require accurate carries over
the lake or swampy terrain. A favorite hole among players of the course is the
par five thirteenth, with the tee shot having to clear a gorge. Probably the
most extraordinary hole is the fourteenth, the highest point on the course
affording a spectacular view of Ba Vi Mountains. After golf you will be
transported back to your hotel. |
|
Day 4 (B, L, D) After breakfast at your
hotel you will be transported to Ha Long Bay. In 1991 a scene of the French
movie INDOCHINE was filmed on the Bay. The film was about the life of a French
woman who lived in Vietnam during the French domination in Indochina from
mid-19th to mid-20th century. Ha Long, a World Heritage site recognized by
UNESCO, attracts around 90% of the visitors coming to Vietnam. It covers 1,500
square kilometers and has nearly 2,000 limestone islands and islets. You will
stay one night at board along a luxurious replica 1900’s steamer where all meals
are included.

|
Day 6, T (B) After breakfast at your hotel you will
be transported to Hanoi Airport for short 30 minute domestic flight to Danang.
After checking in and freshening up at your hotel you will be transported to the
Montgomerie Links Vietnam, Colin Montgomerie’s only Asian creation. The site has
an amazing beachscape, which makes the perfect palette for this links style
course. Moving boldly over wispy Casuarina pines and sand dunes the Montgomerie
Links Vietnam gives you the feeling of being in Scotland without the cold
temperatures you find in the British Isles! The golf course takes advantage of
its close proximity to the Marble Mountains. In addition to excellent golf
course, there is a large contemporary club house. After golf you will transfer
back to your hotel. |
|
Day 7, (B) After breakfast at your
hotel spend half a day exploring Hoi An. Built on the banks of the Thu Bon
River, Hoi An used to be a transit maritime port in the 10th century. Parts of
Hoi An look exactly as they did in centuries past and the town retains the old
world feel. With its narrow streets and quaint mix of architecture, picturesque
Hoi An is a favorite with many visitors including the old houses, Chinese
Pagodas, and the famous Temple Bridge built in 1593 by the Japanese. Hoi An
recognized for its World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, boasts 194 historical
sites including 87 pagodas, temples and communal houses, 82 ancient tube-shaped
houses, 24 ancient wells and an ancient tiled bridge. The rest of the day is
free to relax at the swimming pool or on swim in the warm waters of the South
China Sea. The evening is free for you to enjoy one of Danang’s or Hoi An’s
excellent restaurants.
Day 8, (B) After breakfast at your hotel you will
be transported to the Danang Golf Club. Reminiscent of both Scottish links golf
and Carolina sand hills golf, Australia's Great White Shark Greg Norman has
created arguably Vietnam’s best course. Built on the sandy loam soil of China
Beach, fairways are generous and there is restrained use of water. However shots
must be carefully placed to give players a chance to go for the pins on the well
bunkered and undulating greens. The fairways are lined and well defined by long
needle pines, so miss into the trees and you will be forced to punch off the
sand and pine needles along a safe line just to get back into play. More so than
other areas of Vietnam, the wind can play be a major factor on the central
coast. After golf you will transfer back to your hotel |
|
Day 9, (B) After breakfast at your
hotel you can relax on the beach or by the swimming pool and enjoy the warm
waters of China Beach and the South China Sea. Alternately, an additional round
of golf at one of the Danang golf courses can be arranged for those who so
desire it at an extra cost.
Day 10,
(B) After breakfast at your hotel you will be transported to
Danang Airport for domestic flight to Saigon. After arrival and being welcomed
by our staff and guide you will have a half day ‘Best of Saigon’ tour including
the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and Ben
Thanh Market for shopping. After the tour you will be transported to your hotel
for check-in. Your evening is free to explore Saigon by night on your
own. |
|
Day 11, (B, L) After breakfast at your hotel
you will be transported to Vietnam Golf & Country Club. Located just 20
kilometers from Saigon, the course has been carved out of the existing woodland
with minimal land movement. The 7,106-yard course features narrow tree-lined
fairways, fast smooth greens and hosted the Vietnam Open (Asian PGA Tour Event)
in both 1995 and 1997. Challenging tee shots to the tree lined fairways play to
the softly contoured Bermuda greens, which provide beautiful putting surfaces
all year round. After golf you will be transported back to your
hotel.
Day 12, (B) After breakfast at
your hotel you will travel to Song Be Golf Resort, Vietnam’s first international
championship golf course and widely regarded as one of the most challenging
layouts in the country. The golf resort was built out of the natural landscape
of fruit orchards and coconut palms. The resort style layout features 10 lakes.
As Song Be translates as "little river", a tributary of the Mekong, it is
unsurprising that water comes into play in eight of the 18 holes. Mature tree
lined fairways with undulating greens add to the overall golf course difficulty.
A fully equipped and modern club house provides golfers with excellent ocean and
sand dune views to enjoy the golf course and facilities after their round. After
golf you will be transported back to your hotel.
|
|
Day 13, (B) After breakfast at your hotel you will
be transported to Long Thanh Golf Club. The Long Thanh Golf Club offers golf in
the former rice paddies and scenic countryside surrounding Saigon. Excellent
year round golf course conditions ensure all golfers have an enjoyable time.
Featuring rolling fairways and large undulating greens, with many high lipped
bunkers and water hazards on almost every hole to catch errant shots; the Long
Thanh Golf Club is the epitome of golf in Vietnam. Fairways are palm and pine
tree lined to ensure green conditions throughout both the dray and wetter
periods. Fairways and tees are constructed from Paspalum grass and greens use
the latest variety of dwarf Bermuda. After golf you will be transported back to
your hotel. |
|
Day 14, (B) After breakfast at your
hotel, transfer to Dalat by domestic flight. Since the turn of the century,
Dalat has been the vacation spot for well-to-do Vietnamese and foreigners due to
its weather for its attraction and romance. Dalat is the city of eternal spring;
each day in Dalat includes splendid spring in the morning, bright summer at
noon, cool in the afternoon and comfortable at night. After arrival and check-in
at your hotel you will visit the following sights around Dalat. XUAN HUONG LAKE:
this manmade lake is located in the center of Dalat. HANG NGA ART GALLERY:
nicknamed the Crazy House by locals, this guesthouse, cafe and art gallery is
undeniably unique. FRENCH DISTRICT: a small delightful area for strolling,
reminiscent of a provincial town in France. BAO DAI'S SUMMER PALACE a 25 room
villa constructed in 1933 and is filled with artifacts from decades and
governments past. After the tour, you will return to your hotel for an evening
free at your own leisure.
Day 15 (B) After
breakfast at your hotel you will play a round at Indochina’s highest golf
course. The Dalat Palace Golf Club is situated 5000 feet above sea level in the
temperate highlands and plays downhill to the Xuan Huong Lake. Golfers are
reminded of the days when the pursuit of leisure was the norm for the French
colonialists. Local Vietnamese staff greets guests with warm, friendly smiles.
The course crosses through stately pine trees to oversized and delicately
manicured bent grass greens. In fact, due to the cooler climate in the mountains
of Dalat the course is the only one in Indochina with bent grass tees, fairways
and greens. The large, undulating greens are maintained to impeccable standards
and present a good challenge. After golf you will be transported back to your
hotel.
Day 16 (B) After breakfast you
will be transported to the Dalat Airport for domestic flight to Saigon and
onward connection home. |
