Selfdrive Golftour in the North and the
South Island, giving you a exquisite holiday in 17 days - a bit different from

Day 1
You are welcomed at Auckland Airport by your
guide and accompanied to the hotel. Sight-seeing tour through the city of
Auckland, including a trip to the extinct volcanic cone of Mt Eden and the
"Kelly Tarlton Underwater World". Walking right through the middle of this
aquarium you will be surrounded by Sharks, Stingrays and Moray Eels.

Day 2
After a hearty breakfast you travel to Northland, via the Whangaparoa
peninsula, 40 minutes north of Auckland. At this place the Gulf Harbour
Country Club (6400 m, par 72) opened its gates at the end of 1997 for exclusive
golfing. This was the venue of the WORLD CUP OF GOLF 1998, hosting the
world's best golfers. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.,
one of the most famous golf course designers. After a game at this greens we
drive on towards the Bay of Islands.

Day 3
Enjoy waking up to the sound of birds on
this beautiful property. With great views and being located in one of the
best spots this lodge has everything to offer. Not just for the discerning
Golfer but to any traveller wanting to experience luxury at its best.
After a great breakfast head out to the golf course and enjoy the perfect yet
challenging lay-out of the greens.
The afternoon is free for your own use.

Day 4
Another day in paradise. For the enthusiastic golfer a second game of golf
perhaps? (not included) or explore the surrounding area with a trip to Cape
Reinga and 90 Mile Beach. (Daytrip - not included) (Your guide will have a
rest day today)

Day 5
Today you travel to the western shores of Northland and you undertake a short
walk in the rain forest to the mighty Kauri trees of Waipoua. The Kauris are up
to 2000 years old and only a few have survived the years of logging. Visit
the Museum of Matakohe (Settler's era and Kauri exhibition). In the late
afternoon we arrive back in Auckland.

Day 6
After breakfast tee off at the Formosa Golf Club for a relaxing game before
carrying on to Rotorua, the North Island’s most famous destination for overseas
visitors and an important cultural centre. Visitors soon adapt to the
distinctive sulphur smell, which escapes through many vents from the underground
thermal region. Geysers, steaming lakes and streams, mud pools plopping and
bubbling, multicoloured silica terraces and hot mineral pools known for their
curative properties. We will have a closer look at these natural wonders and
visit “Whakarewarewa Thermal Park”, renown for its boiling mud volcanoes and
geysers that will make you sense the Pulse of the Earth. In Rainbow
Springs you will see the "night house" of New Zealand's national animal, the
flightless Kiwi bird.

Day 7
We spend the entire day in Rotorua, with
extensive commitment to golfing. In the afternoon we will play at the
Arikikapakapa Golf Course, unique in the world since all-over the course you
find “hot-spots” creating natural hazards. When you loose your ball here it for
sure stays lost. The golfer can expect a truly unusual style of game
here. The remainder of the day is for your free disposal. You might want
to relax at Wai Ora Spa or experience the adventure of a helicopter landing in
an active Volcano. (Highly recommended – not included)
Arikikapakapa can be exchanged with the Wairaka International Golf Course if
requested.

Day 8
Heading east on SH5 you reach Napier, a showcase of Art Nouveau buildings
surrounded by vineyards. Some of the best New Zealand’s wine comes from here and
the Wineries invite the discerning traveller to sample their wares and try some
of the local food delicacies. With many artisan food shops the taste buds of all
visitors are catered for.

Day 9
Try your hand at a round of golf on a course
that has been declared the top in the world for 2009. Cape Kidnappers is a golf
course that needs to be experienced. Sweeping greens and a view that seems to go
on forever. Relax afterwards at the lodge or head over to the vineyards close by
and try the some of the local wine. Cape Kidnappers Gannet Colony is close-by
and well worth a visit. (optional)

Day 10
Today you will drive to Napier where you board your plane to the South Island
and in particular Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. Enclosed by
steep mountains this city has to offer every visitor something.

Day 11
Enjoy a relaxing day in Queenstown. We suggest a Trip out to the quaint
little town of Arrowtown that has kept its old world charm. The drive to the
pleasant countryside invites you to stop at the many vineyards that are dotting
the landscape. With award wining wines and delectable food offerings the wary
traveller is drawn in to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of the wine cellars.

Day 12
Having had a relaxing day yesterday, we have booked for you a 4WD into
Skippers Canyon or Macetown. (Optional) You are being taken by 4WD to the
far out-back and experience Mother Nature just like the first settlers seen it
when arriving in this part of New Zealand. (Your driver has its legal rest day
today)

Day 13
A golfing delight on the luxury golf resort of Millbrook Resort (6400, par
72m) that was designed by Bob Charles. The course is located in a
fascinating alpine environment, surrounded by mountains.
After a relaxing game, you head south direction Te Anau. In the late
afternoon you reach Te Anau, the hub for sightseeing activities in the region,
nestled on the tranquil shores of Lake Te Anau. Boat cruise across the lake to
see the Glow-worm grotto (optional)

Day 14
To be the highlight of your trip to New Zealand, we take you on a day of
incredible sights to the renown Milford Sound, part of Fiordland. Fiordland
is one of the largest National Parks in the world and a World Heritage area.
Here the power of nature stuns the enthralled visitor - from its waterfalls
tumbling hundred of metres into virgin, forested valleys and lonely fiords, to
endless stretches of shimmering lakes and granite peaks. From Te Anau the
road to Milford Sound winds down the Eglinton and Hollyford valleys then through
the Homer Tunnel to be met by Mitre Peak towering from the glassy waters of
Milford Sound. Milford Sound is the most famous and accessible of the fiords.
We board the ship, where we will really get an opportunity to see the
sights, spot the seals and dolphins, fish the depths and generally soak up the
beauty. Lunch on board the vessel.
After the end of the tour you head over to the East Coast of the South
Island. Dunedin, founded by Scottish emigrants has not lost the charm of
yesteryear.

Day 15
A game of Golf starts of your day. Founded in 1905 St. Clair Golf Club is
part of a rich history of Golf in NZ. After a good game of golf, head over to
Otago Peninsula to find gigantic Albatrosses rearing their young. A short
distance away you can see eye to eye with the endangered yellow-eyed penguin.

Day 16
Heading north your trip takes you past the famous Moeraki Boulders. This
unique structures can be found along the beach looking like giant marbles. A
stroll on the beach will astound the visitor, while giving him a chance to
stretch his legs.
Onwards the road leads north to Christchurch. Our last stop on this tour is
Clearwater Resort, a short drive outside Christchurch. The 188 ha (465 acre)
resort, with luxury hotel and stunning views of lakes and mountains, is not just
for championship golfers.

Today is the last day of your tour through NZ.
We have booked tee-off at Clearwater Resort for you. Enjoy a game on this
magnificent golf course.
Rest of day at leisure. We suggest a drive into this beautiful city for a
stroll through Mona Vale Gardens, or a visit to the new Art Gallery.
